WhO Is Commissionaires?

Commissionaires is accredited by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to conduct electronic fingerprinting across the country and is a full participant in the RCMP’s Livescan Real Time Identification Project [RTID].

What is Real Time Identification [RTID]?

Real Time Identification [RTID] is a National Police Services [NPS] Project under the stewardship of the RCMP designed to improve the efficiency of Canada’s National Fingerprinting and criminal record repository.
It will replace outdated paper processes and legacy systems with re-engineered workflows and automation.
The new process includes electronic filing and processing through the RCMP’s National Identification Database, resulting in an expedited service.
The entire fingerprinting procedure use to take more than five months. Through a new technology, we have a much faster turnaround time than ink and roll prints.
Users of the new service will no longer have to roll their fingers on an ink pad before pressing their fingerprints on a card. It is now done electronically in a matter of minutes. The advanced scanning technology provides a more reliable fingerprint record that reduces identification errors and enhances security.
This new high-tech fingerprinting service is available in a friendly and professional setting at over 25 Commissionaires’ offices across the nation. No other fingerprinting agency can turn around results faster or offer Canadians as many locations or as much choice and convenience.

Who Benefits from RTID?

Accurate and up-to-date criminal records and fingerprint identification information provided by RTID will benefit all system users across Canada.
The quick turnaround time will benefit Canadians who need their fingerprints taken to immigrate in Canada and to obtain a Canadian citizenship, for pardons, employment screening, applying for passports and visas, for adoption applications and work or travel permits.
